Nearly every failure of power transformer is ultimately due to the failure of the oil-paper insulation itself, Oil and Winding temperature of the transformer is the most important factor to determining short and long term risk to the lifespan of the oil paper-insulation system. Therefore Oil Temperature Indicator (OTI) and Winding Temperature Indicator (WTI) are essential equipment for the operating safety of the power transformer. To ensure that OTI/WTI is accurate its range (0°C - 160°C) the calibration to the OTI/WTI is necessary.
